The Al-Takaful Program is a community-based initiative of the Sudanese American Community Development Organization (SACDO), serving members of the Sudanese American community in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Inspired by the principle of takaful—mutual support and shared responsibility—the program strengthens solidarity among members by providing assistance during times of hardship.
Scope of Support
Al-Takaful offers financial and resource assistance in critical situations, including:
-Medical emergencies
-Funeral and bereavement support
-Housing instability
-Job loss or economic hardship
How It Works
Members in need may confidentially submit a request for assistance. SACDO’s review team carefully evaluates each case and delivers timely support—whether financial aid or essential resources—while upholding respect, dignity, and privacy.
